The Maison restaurant brief was to revamp the space and create a warm a cosy yet moody feel. Moody interiors are trending now which is why we wanted to portray a true contrast to the bright existing interior, the mood also fits perfectly with the masculine well curated Weylandts brand identity.

The flooring and walls was changed to a dark shade of charcoal grey as opposed to the stark white it used to be. This already made a drastic change to the space.

I designed and installed a contemporary inspired double-sided fireplace, this created a warm and welcoming environment while also acting as a divider between the restaurant and tasting area.

A brand-new coffee area was designed and installed with the look and feel of Weylandts in mind. Adding some organic elements into the space through the planter grids above the coffee bar and tasting room table allowed for the beautiful scenery of Franschoek to filter into the space

Over all it turned out to be a very successful project, translating the brand identity of Weylandts from retail into hospitality while still maintaining the organic nature of the Franschoek winelands.
